The Poppin Publicist

Public Relations is one of the most important aspects of building a brand in any industry today. Whether you're in a fortune 500 company or you're a small business flourishing on you're own, eventually you'll be faced with  decisions regarding how you connect with your audience beyond your product or service.

As a Publicist myself, I understand being comfortable behind the scenes. I make things happen and I stand behind my clients brands. Often times I get questions from other publicists as well as friends and family that asking "Well Chas, what about your brand?" "You represent some dope people, and they're poppin. You should not be afraid of being poppin too."  I had never thought about it before. Then rebranding became a word said way too often to be ignored. Interestingly enough that started to strengthen the voice in the back of my mind keeping me from being in the forefront for many reasons.

The first, was this fact, I didn't go to college & major in Public Relations to be in the front, I am an intro-extrovert and honestly I wasn't remotely interested. Secondly, my clients are the talent, not me. Although all of these facts are relevant I started to observe other Publicists around me.

One of my favorite Pub's whose mastered branding herself is Regan Farley, co-owner of lntel Media Group. When I noticed the visibility that she gained for herself and her clients by putting the love in herself and her brand, as well as the visibility it helped her clients with I was intrigued. It was the first time I thought to myself,  "It's OK to be a Poppin Publicist" as long as you're on your game and you always keep your clients in mind."

When I made the decision to put my all in, and take the leap it actually worked. A vital tool that was a big help was the "Canva" app. It allowed me to create and personalize my own content. After using the free version, I upgraded to the PRO to receive unique perks. In result, I gained more of a following which helped me add to my network and make additional opportunities happen for my clients.

Currently, I continue to produce content that resonates with my followers. Whether its putting my story out there by showcasing examples of my daily growth or posting an inspiring quote I am consistent and I don't miss a day.

"The Poppin Publicist" doesn't have to be totally in the mix, nor does she has to have a mass number of followers. What she does have to have is consistency. Consistency in terms of content and making sure she reaches her audience and gets them to believe in what she does if not as much as her, close to it. Its just that simple. Get It Poppin'
