Angel Reese Shines Bright: A Recap of the NY Liberty vs. Chicago Sky Showdown
Can we talk about the epic slaughter that took place last night during the New York Liberty and Chicago Sky game?
Now, if you're a WNBA fan like me, you know that the Liberty and Sky have been building up quite the rivalry over the past 18 years. With 73 matchups since 2006, these two squads always bring the heat whenever they face off. And let me tell you, last night was no exception!
With Chicago missing powerhouse rookie Kamila Cardosa, many thought this would finally be New York's chance to take down their long-time rivals. But oh, how wrong they were! The Sky came in hot and completely dominated the court, leaving the Liberty in their dust with a jaw-dropping final score of 101-53. I'm not even a Liberty fan, and ouch!!!
And let's talk about Angel Reese for a second – one day after her MET Gala debut, she absolutely owned the court, making plays that left us all speechless. Even the WNBA couldn't help but tweet about her incredible performance, saying, "Big Barbie not the little" after one of her biggest plays. And that's what I call making a statement!
But you know what makes this even more exciting? This year's Rookie of the Year race is going to be one for the books! With talented newcomers like Angel Reese lighting up the court, against the leagues, tried and true greats, we're in for one heck of a ride.
So, while last night might not have ended the way we hoped for the Liberty, one thing's for sure – the future is looking bright, and I am looking forward to see how this WNBA season shapes out.
